History

  • 2006: TARLA was designated as the first accelerator facility of the Turkish Accelerator Center (TAC) project, supported by the Ministry of Development of the Republic of Türkiye.
  • 2013: The first electron beam was successfully generated.
  • 2020: TARLA was recognized as a National Research Infrastructure (NRI) by the Turkish Research Infrastructures Commission (ARDEB-K) and was granted legal entity status. Installation works started at Ankara University’s Gölbaşı Campus.
  • 12/2023: The helium cooling system was successfully commissioned.
  • 02/2024: High-power RF conditioning of the superconducting accelerator cavities was successfully completed.
  • 03/2024: Electron beam tests were successfully completed using the injector RF cavities.
  • 04/2024: The first superconducting module was operated, accelerating the electron beam up to 18.3 MeV.
