As TARLA is an experimental research infrastructure that generates radiation, all users are required to comply with specific safety regulations during any activities conducted on-site. Before accessing the facility or starting any experimental work, all users must successfully complete the following two mandatory training sessions:
- Radiation Safety Training: This training covers the basic principles of ionizing radiation, potential hazards, safe working practices within the facility, and emergency procedures. It is designed to ensure that users can operate safely in environments where radiation is present.
- Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Training: This training provides essential knowledge on general laboratory safety, the use of personal protective equipment, preventive measures against potential risks, and preparedness for emergency situations.
Completion of both training sessions is a prerequisite for entering the facility and participating in any experimental activities.
For detailed information on these training procedures and the safety rules users must follow, please visit our Research Safety and Facility Access & Training pages.
TARLA is committed to maintaining the highest level of user safety and therefore strictly requires full compliance with all applicable safety procedures.
